"Ah, babies!" They're more than just adorable little creatures on whom you can blame your farts." -Tina Fey

Ok, so it's been a hot minute. Since you heard from me last I miiiiiight have gotten knocked up and successfully, a little reluctantly, birthed a human child. So forgive me for being busy! Gosh.

Where do I even start? Finding out I was pregnant for the first time was like, "Oh shit!" Excuse my colorful word choice, but when it happens to you, you'll know. If you're a mom you already know. And even though I yearned for the gift of motherhood for years before, the moment I discovered I was with child seriously freaked me out!

The next nine months went as expected. Excitement, announcements, nervousness, nausea, fatigue, more excitement, more nervousness, doctors appointments, aches and pains, continued excitement and nervousness, emotions, weight gain, waddling, total exhaustion, baby showers, more aches and pains, more emotions, loooooooots of intense laboring, pushing, crying, and then eventually a baby came out of me. The end................Ok, not really!

More like, the beginning!!! Now I'm a mom and I'm sitting here in bed, at midnight, writing a blog update while my husband and daughter sleep peacefully beside me. She's seven weeks old. I'm still tired, and I'm still nervous, and I'm still emotional (possibly more emotional...shhhh don't tell) and I still have aches and pains, and I'm still excited!

Motherhood changes you, dude! [Why do I still say 'dude'?] I promise I'm still funny, but I'm also much more laid back then ever before. This new life has caused me to slow down and accept the moments of absolute stillness. And I'm ok with that.

So, yeah, I'm now a part of the "Mom club" where all I do is talk about my baby. Sorry! I said I'd never be this person, but here I am. Deal with it.

Also, can you even handle this?! ^^^ I'm like a pregnancy goddess blowing in the wind!
